Today is White Ribbon Day<\/strong> in Australia. Events all around the country are taking place to raise awareness of the issues surrounding male violence towards women and to call for the prevention and elimination of violence against women and children.<\/p>\n

What is White Ribbon?<\/h3>\n

White Ribbon is the\u00a0world\u2019s largest movement engaging with men and boys to eliminate gendered violence against women and children.<\/p>\n

You may have encountered your fair or unfair\u00a0<\/em>share of sexism\u00a0<\/strong> at home and at work…<\/p>\n

You may have encountered emotional or physical abuse<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

That imbalance of power and resource<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

Salary discrepancies<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

A poor distribution<\/strong> of opportunities at work.<\/p>\n

These are all examples of gender imbalance.<\/p>\n

We live in a system, in a culture, where although most men are our supporters, a small minority of men continue to hold women back.<\/p>\n
