So many of the stories being shared are absolutely awe-inspiring.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign was started by <a href=\"https:\/\/inspiring-girls.com\/\">Inspiring Girls<\/a> and encourages women, from all walks of life, to share their stories of overcoming adversity, falling and succeeding in a bid to encourage young girls globally to expand their horizons and chase down their dreams.<\/p>\n<p>The campaign is here to mark <strong>International Day of The Girl<\/strong>, on 11 October 2021.<\/p>\n<p>I had the absolute pleasure and privilege to speak with Miriam about the campaign and the vision for <a href=\"https:\/\/inspiring-girls.com\/\">Inspiring Girls<\/a> and, being a mum to both a girl and a boy, I am thrilled to bring this episode to you today.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4>Super quote from this episode:<\/h4>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cI am super grateful to all those big names (Sheryl Sandberg, Annie Lennox and Ellie Cole have all posted their own personal stories for example) for participating, because of course giving volume to the campaign is essential, but we are trying to shine a light on the others, the amazing role models who are not normally on television or magazines \u2013 and they are wonderful role models to girls.\u201d\u00a0 (Miriam Gonz\u00e1lez Dur\u00e1ntez, guest on \u2018Her Ambitious Career\u2019 Podcast)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of my favourite stories was a lady who works in a supermarket who said,\u00a0<em>\u2018I had all these big dreams as a little girl but they just didn\u2019t happen. I ended up working in a supermarket. And it was [only] with Covid that I realised how important my job is.\u2019<\/em>\u00a0That is what this campaign is about. It\u2019s about diversity of role models, it is about\u00a0<em>every\u00a0<\/em>woman from all walks of life, from all backgrounds. Not every girl is going to be CEO of the big investment bank or working in tech.
