Recent events in US politics might also have you questioning what the role truly is for diversity and inclusion going forwards.<\/a><\/p>\n

Countless studies have repeatedly shown us that hiring for diversity of thought and experience is good for business<\/strong><\/em>…<\/p>\n

And yet some Presidents and CEOs are telling us right now that DEI is no longer a requirement of business.<\/p>\n

Their intention is not only to bolster opportunity for men just like them, but to demean and disempower minority groups such as women, people of colour and LGBTQ+ communities.<\/p>\n

DEI is not dead.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And it’s essential not to buy into the narrative and stick to the facts… and to the reams of data that support inclusive workplaces.<\/p>\n

Step 1: Know Your Impact and Value Proposition<\/h4>\n

Make sure you start the year by reviewing the impact you have already <\/strong><\/em>made!<\/p>\n

It\u2019s so easy to doubt yourself.<\/p>\n

It can happen in the blink of an eye, triggered by mere words.<\/p>\n

Despite all the effort you put in, it can be easy to forget your achievements!<\/p>\n

The fastest way to combat feelings of disillusionment is to focus your energy into understanding where you\u2019re already adding value and making an impact<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Think of it like a dissection of your track-record by defining your tangible value.<\/p>\n

Step 3: Decide How You’ll Regain Control<\/h4>\n

Lastly, you want to think about regaining control\u2026 because in times of uncertainty, and when feeling deflated, control<\/strong><\/em> is exactly what you\u2019re missing.<\/p>\n

As women in a corporate world, there are factors all the time that are working against us.<\/p>\n

Trump tells us DEI is dead\u2026 I disagree.<\/p>\n

I believe there are always factors within<\/em> and outsid<\/em>e<\/em> of our control.<\/span><\/p>\n

The key is to know your values and beliefs and take steps to set yourself up for success<\/strong> always<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In some cases, it might mean moving department, company, or even industry.<\/p>\n

But know how to get the support you need<\/strong> to achieve your true potential – rather than feeling stuck or limited by any circumstances around you.<\/p>\n
