Ep 82 – Why Are So Many Talented, Intelligent Women Still Overlooked Professionally?
It’s not up to women to fix the systemic issues thwarting female career progression…
In this episode I am exploring, from the macro level right down to the micro level, what the common barriers are to women’s progress at work.
We are talking about systemic failures in many organisations (still, in the 21st Century!) to support women’s needs and aspirations…
We are talking about the different ‘phases’ of career advice women have been given in the 80s, 90s and 00s that have failed them…
And we are talking too about the internal doubt that affects a lot of women in their bid to progress their careers.
I’d welcome your thoughts on this topic…
It’s so important we talk about these issues publicly and with all genders to raise awareness of these barriers.

Here’s something interesting I said in this ep! 🙂
“Women are tired of banging the equity drum by themselves; women talking to other women about these challenges is just us talking to the converted! Men need to be part of the discussion and the solution – after all, genuine equity benefits them too in a big way.”  (Rebecca Allen, Career Success Coach and host of Her Ambitious Career podcast)
