Confident Self-Promotion, Without the Wince
Self-promotion has an image problem. In many corporate environments, especially for women, it can feel like you’re choosing between staying visible or staying likable.
But talking about your impact doesn’t have to feel like a cringe-worthy, inauthentic performance.
The shift starts with reframing what self-promotion actually is: not bragging, but translating your work into impact others can understand.
When you reframe it this way, you stop thinking about ‘selling yourself’ and start thinking about making your contributions known.
Senior leaders are not mind readers. And all that magic you’re producing doesn’t deserve to remain invisible.
Which is why I am talking about this issue at WiBF – Women in Banking and Finance – on 15 September and I’d love to invite you to join the webinar.

Self-Promotion Needs a Reframe
If you want to be more effective at talking about your impact stop thinking about ‘talking about how great you are’ and start thinking about the fact that you’re ‘documenting reality’.
The more neutral your language, the less it feels like self-promotion and the more it feels like good communication.
Over time, this builds visibility without the internal wince.
