Rebecca Singing at Sydney Opera House

This weekend, I sang at The Sydney Opera House. 👯🎉

Yes, the Concert Hall at The Sydney Opera House… and to a sell-out audience! It was the most spectacular experience.

There I am, right at the top (!) and my gorgeous choirmaster, Marnie, who just led us through Baba Yetu.

My choir, Luana, joined forces with seven other choirs from across Sydney and Melbourne from the Hummingsong Choirs group for our annual concert.

I can definitely say that 600 women coming together to sing makes for one spectacular sound!

Our repertoire was varied – we covered Queen, Enya, Keane, we sang in Swahili and Australian Aboriginal language – and even had a go at a swing number.

It was delightful. 💕

Here are (most) of my choir Luana, chilling out backstage before our big night!

And the purpose?

Both to find immense joy, through song and connection, and also to continue to raise awareness and funding for Women’s Community Shelters here in Sydney.

Did you know that 67,000 women are homeless every night in Australia, with the main cause being domestic violence?

We are still raising funds for WCS through the Hummingsong raffle so please donate generously: you might win one of the fabulous prizes (the draw is happening on 1 December). Find the raffle link here

Thank you for giving generously and thank you to Hummingsong, for giving me the opportunity every week to sing and connect with the truly phenomenal women, I get to call my soul sisters. 👯
